HEAR The Pursuit Read by the Author

The Pursuit

I pass through jealous memories as
     they sneer and taunt:
“Thought you could escape?”
     they whisper and crowd closer.
“We are you, you cannot be who you are without us!”
they wickedly laugh loud and long.
