This is me freezing my ass off . . . this apartment had electric heat and I couldn't afford to crank it up . . . this was my first computer: a 286 . . . ahhhh, the days of DOS . . . the poster behind me on the left intrigued me from the first second I saw it at my doctor's office . . . I had myself tested for HIV since I had a blood transfusion when I had my injury . . . blood wasn't screened in 1984 . . . luck was on my side as I was good to go -- unprotected sex as well . . . the poster has a solid, deep black background, on the left are the simulated feet of a dead person with a toe tag stating "AIDS" in bright red [the only color in the poster] with the tag upside down . . . on the right of the poster are the words:

Do you? I asked if I could have a copy of the poster and they did have another . . . I find it quite artistic and sobering . . .

Ben, Gordon and I celebrating a belated Christmas . . . I don't *do* Christmas anymore . . . no tree, no presents . . . I give gifts over the span of the year and say here's your Christmas present . . . of course many many people think I'm insane . . . I find it comfortably empowering . . .
