Back To: The Tyranny of Materiality
My
Mikey J. worked on Yerdon's farm and was a friend of John's . . . Mikey hung around with JA and I and began seeing my friend Amy though they didn't stay together . . . he was [is] a crazy dude . . . he got into a motorcycle accident about a mile from my house, breaking his back, paraplegia . . . more irony: I used to visit him in Bassett Hospital every day until he was transferred to Burke Rehabilitation Center . . . Mikey just completed his rehab and came back to the area when I fell off the cliff breaking my neck . . . he then visited me everyday . . . after I returned from rehab we used to go squeal around in his car . . . he spent the Summer of '85 in jail as he became involved in a patriot / militia group . . . he questioned the legalities of driving: in particular the requirement of a license . . . I remember getting stopped by the police with him after a bunch of us went to the movies in Oneonta . . . looooonnnngggggg story short: after at least seven tickets for driving without a license and other infractions the court system sent him to jail as he wouldn't cooperate . . . a few years later he dug around and ended up successfully suing the Otsego County Jail as funds were allocated for accessibility though not implemented or something to that effect.
