Back To: The Tyranny of Materiality
Brian(1) and I: May 1992 . . . guess who lived in Florida? Our relationship was terribly complex as we hardly knew each other before my injury . . . I honestly couldn't connect with anyone at that point but I will always love our time together and I love you Brian for getting me over several humps . . . especially rediscovering sexuality: even though I had to get so drunk that I had to ask you about it the next day! Thinking back: how different we were on this visit . . . though we got along well enough for the evening . . . Brian(2) and I finished our relationship by early January '92 . . . I just transfered to the University at Albany to begin my BA the previous year.
Letters from Brian(1): 7/5 - 8/4/85
Self-determination at its utmost: accessible marshmellow toasting . . .
August 1989: My step-father Gerald (Benny) and I . . . Dad broke his neck in 1979, five years before my injury. He worked in the woods . . . after cutting a tree down, a dead limb from another tree fell, driving his neck down . . . his injury was C 3: he could move his head.
